I've heard there's a doctor on staff here, but I've not met you yet. Should you actually be checking these things, I'm a healer, and I'd like to offer my services if you've any need for them.

[Not that Ryn's trusting any of the staff here, but she's been here too long with not much useful to do to be picky at the moment.]

For anyone else, in case I've not met you yet, m'name's Ryn. Like I said, I'm a healer, if you're wanting anything taken care of, all you need to do is let me know.

[She pauses.]

Unless it's a fucking emergency, though, it better be at a decent time. Not about to drag myself out of bed for a bloody sprained ankle.

What kind of healer are you?

[All right, that's making her grin.]

Depends on how special. And what I'm getting in return for crawling out of bed at such an indecent hour.

[Oh, right, she'd forgotten she had to be specifying that around here.]

Not the traditional kind. A couple of people here've been calling it magic, so I guess that's as good a term as anything.

Of course. I believe something could be arranged.

[The sounds of scribbling can be heard across the journal.]

I have a few questions about your abilities. Are you comfortable talking about them over the books?

In that case, you're more than welcome to come knocking any time.

[There's a moment's pause, because that actually hadn't occured to her. She's not used to being anything but reasonably open about her abilities. She shrugs.]

Sure, question away.

Even if I'm not injured?

Alright.

How does the magic work, and how much can you heal before you're spent?

Particularly if you're not injured.

[Another pause as she considers that.]

It's a trade, is probably the best way to be explaining it. I take on the injuries myself, but then I heal them a hell of a lot faster.

I'm not entirely certain as to the second. Used to be I could heal anything that wasn't dead, but it seems things are different here.

Of course. I'll drop by soon enough.

[True to his word, the fallen arch-angel appeared at Ryn's door with a quick few knocks.]

Anyone home?

[She's not sure she was expecting him that quickly, but she's not at all opposed to it, and she smiles slightly as she moves to answer the door.]

'Home' isn't exactly what I'd be calling it, but I'm certainly here.

[He leaned against the door frame with a grin.]

I don't think 'cell' would work in its place. Anyway, how are you holding up?

Interesting.

[And it is.]

Do you have any formal medical training? First aid, stitches, treatment of dislocated limbs, et cetera?

[She chuckles.]

You're right on that, it just doesn't seem to have the same ring.

[And then she makes a face somewhere between a grimace and a smirk.]

Splendidly, as you can tell. Feeling bored and useless enough to offer healing to the general public.

A few first aid classes, but nothing more formal than that. Most of my experience is hands on, since I was about eleven or so.

Is that so? Perhaps I can help get rid of that boredom.

[He intentionally leaned in, his height helped with looming over Ryn.]

[...yeah, Ryn's not going to be passing up an invitation like that. She leans up, tilting her head so her lips are not quite touching his.]

Really now?

Yes.

[A grin spread across his lips before leaning down a bit more to catch Ryn's mouth with his own.]

But, assuming you have more than one patient and can't afford to heal both, you know how to stabilize the other?

Ah. Yes, that I do know. I know the basics of keeping them alive until I'm able to finish the job. Provided it's not something requiring specialized equipment, anyway.

[Although for all she knows, the medical facilities of this place could actually be fucking state of the art. She's doubting it, though.]

[And it turns out that, yes, he definitely can help with that.

She grins back at him in the brief moment before their lips meet, and then she's reaching up to wind her arm around his neck, pulling him a bit closer.]

[A small chuckle escapes his lips as he feels her arm around his neck. After a few moments, he pulls back slightly, but still in kissing range.]

A bit demanding are we?

[It was in a teasing tone and amusement sang in his voice.]

Good.

[More scritches, more writing, and then she speaks again.]

That's about all I need from you. If there's anything else you think is important, now would be the time to say so.

[There's a number of things that Ryn thinks are rather important to say, but she won't be saying any of them, because she's making a conscious effort to not be rude here. This isn't about any distrust of this place or its staff, this is about Ryn being bored out of her fucking mind.

And wanting to help. That, too.]

Nothing in particular. Just rather hate feeling bloody useless if there's something I can be doing to help.

[That makes Ryn smirk a bit, looking amused as well.]

I prefer to think of it as not being afraid to go for something I'm damn well wanting.

[Her comment causes him to laugh and once he stiffles his laughter, he leans in. His lips brush against her cheek.]

I wouldn't have said it any different.

I hear you.

If I need you, I'll send a message. Thanks.

[She grins at his laughter, absently running her fingers through the hair on the back of his head.]

That's because you're probably just as demanding as I.

[A small chuckle escapes his lips. He closed his eyes at the touch.]

Am I that easy to read?

[His chuckle is returned.]

Apparently there's just some truth in that 'it takes one to know one' saying.

'Just some truth'?

[His tone is teasing as he reopens his eyes to look at her.]

[That brought out a laugh.]

A hell of a lot of truth, then, if that suits you better.

It does.

[His grin widens a bit before he leans in and steals another kiss from her.]
