You’ve got to be shitting me. Once wasn’t enough? I’ve got to be uprooted from my life and shoved into some place with people in charge who are claiming it’s for my own good but really they don’t give a fuck twice? Or is this actually the place people go when they’ve been ‘rehabilitated’? Because I’ve gotta say, I prefer the facility. At least there we had electricity.
And also? Why the hell are you picking on us? We’re not a major player. We’re not even a secondary player. Shit, go pick on the New Era or the Fists or the fucking Suits. And why me? I’m retired, damn it, it’s not gonna be making that big of an impact. Why not Pride? Everyone’d fall apart without Pride making decisions. ‘Ahh, Pride’s not here to tell us what to eat for breakfast today, we’re doomed!’ ‘Oh, let’s go ask Wrath, she’ll know what to do.’ The hell would I be knowing what to do?
[There’s a pause as she realizes she’s gone on a bit of a tirade.]
Look. If I break the law again, will you send me back?
[The tone of her voice says she doesn’t expect an answer, and she sighs.]
Tell me the rest of this place isn’t as medieval as the room I woke up in? Irritating as it’s going to be having to rebuild my shop, it’ll be even worse without one at all.
[She doesn’t sound very hopeful about that, either.]
I’m going to have to ride a horse to the village or whatever to buy my groceries and shit, aren’t I?
Hell.
Is there at least ocean access here?

[Oh, she's complaining. But she loves being useful, too, and it probably won't be long before she starts trying to find something to do.]
I'd be lying if I said 'you, too,' but it's as nice as it can be, given the circumstances.
no subject
[Zachariah kicked himself for that stupid comment. Of course it wasn't nice. Since when was getting kidnapped ever nice?]
Right, that's...yeah um, sorry. That was kind of stupid for me to say.

[Or recruiting him into the Sins, but same difference. She's figuring he doesn't mean 'rescue' in the figurative sense, but she's not going to ask about it. Likely not something he wants to be talking about, either.
Then she gives a soft, amused snort at his response.]
Nah, it was the polite thing to say. I've just never been good at doing the polite thing. T'be honest, I wasn't expecting an apology. Most of those I said that to last time just got mad at me for being rude.
no subject
I um...thanks. Just like being helpful.
[He chuckled.]
It takes a lot to get under my skin. You're no worse than one of my friends.
no subject
[Particularly when they're new recruits, and she can get them to do things.
His chuckle gets a grin.]
You must know how to pick good friends, then.
no subject
[Beats having to kill someone to survive by a landslide.]
Yeah, I guess I do. Or maybe they just know how to pick me.
no subject
[Her tone is cheerful, though it may not be clear that she's mostly joking. That's pretty much a complete lie; however much she grips about patching her Sins up, she always does it without a second of hesitation.]
Nah. You should definitely be taking the credit. Knowing how to pick your friends is a damn good skill to have.

[Fighting to topple a dictator for the people is pretty up there on the list of selfless things to do.]
Maybe, they just seem to find me more than I find them.
no subject
A lot of people I know are like that, the things they're doing now shaped by the things they've done in the past. It can be - difficult, at times. How's it working out for you?
[She smiles a bit.]
Suppose being able to attract the good kind of friends is an equally good skill. Could probably be said most of mine found me, as well.
no subject
Yeah, I guess it is.
[Though how a broken mess like him attracts anyone he'll never know.]
no subject
[Or, you know, her. But she's not saying that.]
That'll probably be me in this fucking place, considering my way of making a living is pretty much obsolete.

When you say it like that, guess I can't help but find something to do. Suppose if it comes down to it, I can do what I did for the Sins back home. This place have an actual doctor, or is it all medieval medicine?
no subject
There's always something out there to keep you busy.
Yeah there's a doctor here. Had to spend a couple days in the infirmary, but I'm not exactly sure what medicine they use here.
no subject
Yeah. May not be the best something, but at least it's something.
[And at least here, it's not the rest of the gangs keeping them busy.]
Hmm. Well, I can make an offer, if it comes do it.
[Then she frowns a bit, the rest of that sinking in.]
Did you? Are you all right now, then?
no subject
Well nothing hurts anymore so I'd say I'm alright.
no subject
[And she's a bit relieved there, because if it'd been otherwise, she would've had to offer to heal him.]
Good. Not hurting is generally considered a plus.
no subject
Won't argue with you there. Things tend to be a lot more fun when I'm not nursing cracked ribs.
no subject
Does anyone? Think I'd be unnerved if I ever met someone who claimed to be knowing exactly what they were doing. Just asking for things to go wrong.
That would tend to put a damper on things. Stuff like cracked ribs happen often around here?
Could of sworn I tagged this
Um, we just had some trouble a while back. I wasn't as careful as I should have been.
no worries! I've done that too
[Except when it didn't. But those times don't count.]
What kind of trouble?
[That sounded a bit sharper than she'd intended, and she's calmed down enough to catch it.]
If you don't mind me asking. Like to know what I should be looking out for.
no subject
no subject
Lovely.
[She snorts lightly.]
Let's hope not. This place is already going to end up driving me insane, I'm not needing a fucking infection to speed along the process.
no subject
[He chuckles.]
You only just got here. Try being here for months.
no subject
[Ryn doesn't know her, nor was she here for whatever it was, so that's good enough for her.]
Hell, how've you lasted months? I'm betting I'm going to start babbling incoherently inside of a few weeks.
